Hello,

We have a 90 by 40 "old New England" barn. I would like to convert some of the old horse stalls into coops with runs coming out one side. Has anyone ever done this successfully and if you have, could you show me how you did it. Our stall are pretty simple with half walls on the front and dividing them. I replaced the doors already with livestock gates but not sure what to put up over the half walls. I am thinking wire, but want it to look good too, not just be functional:)

Thanks in advance.

I have a friend doing this. She is putting up hardware cloth across the inside bars. Gonna let them go out the sliding door to a run that used to have goats in it. She will close them up in the stall at night and let them out each morning. Lots of room for the chickens in and out..

Hello,

We currenly have a flock of speckled sussex. They have their own coop in the barn and a huge big run. I want to make another separate coop for my daughters new bantam cochins that are coming this week. We made them a small coop this weekend but want them to have something bigger eventually. Would love to be able to convert the big stalls. The stalls do have ceilings in them, so it is just not open space, if that makes any sense.

Thanks again.

The stalls are 12x14. Quite big. I feel bad if they don't have an outside run. I guess, I just think everything needs to get out and see the sun:) I guess I won't worry about it till Spring.

Thanks so much for all the help.
