converting to coop

Our chickens our currency free range. Building a coop now. How long do we leave them in coop before letting them out again so they know where to roost and nest?

2-3 days is what is usually recommended.

It can be longer, especially if the old coop is still in their sight. Most use a week to imprint a new coop. I have had chickens who still went to the old coop after two weeks.
