Just put a bunch of fertilized eggs in the incubator! That's what I did.
Now that I've got 4 chicks, I had to have more, of course. So, my DH is out building me another coop that is squared and everything for my chickies that just hatched Friday and yesterday- 10 more babies. DH didn't like my 'redneck' coop that I built for the 4 chicks I got while he was away backpacking (didn't measure a thing- just built, but it works- thus me hauling bootie to get something built before he got back
). SURPRISE! I let our boys tell him over the phone before he got home! They were so excited. They had helped me build it. DH won't let me do much but be his little 'helper' on this one. LOL
The downside to all this is that DH said I had to be the one to cull and dress the roos when the time comes. We will only be keeping hens. Well, we'll see about that. If I could get him to make me another coop, I'm sure I will get him to 'do in' the roos. I won't have to worry about that for a while, though. More time to contemplate and give him the 'pitiful' wifey look. LOL
I'm such a bad wifey! Not always, just this time. I didn't really expect him to make this second coop. I was just going to build onto my redneck one and make it bigger. But hey, if HE wants to show me up that's fine. I'm still getting a bigger coop! WHOO HOO!
