I started to make a Game of Thrones bread last night and put Rye Berries into my Instant Pot to cook. While the berries were cooking, I was trying to grind the remaining Rye Berries in my Cuisinart which failed miserably!...I have come to determine these little berries are as hard as nails and now need to buy a grain mill...(very expensive loaf of bread!).

Anyway, I now have about 2 cups of cooked rye berries and was wondering if I can feed them to my girls?

Please chime in and let me know....thanks!!!

Right! For grains you absolutely need a grain mill to get anything finely ground enough for dough. But as for the cooked ones, I'm sure your chickies will enjoy them!

Have you considered sprouting some for another loaf?
Actually, I was thinking about trying to sprout both the rye & wheat berries I have. I've seen sprouted broccoli, etc. in the store and can't believe what they are charging for a small clamshell...$4.99!!!!!

Things are pricey for what they are anytime someone else does the work for you.
Check the price of a big tomato, pepper or herb plant at a big box store compared to the price of a package of seed.
