I am a traditionalist so my vote goes for breast up, you can still achieve a very moist and juicey bird as well as a stunning look, it does take some attention to detail and a little babysitting it but I think it's worth it. My FIL used to be an advocate of breast side down, tasted good enough but was a sight for sore eyes when placed at the table for carving LOL bless his heart I told him it looked great.

I cook breast side down and then ten minutes at the end breast side up with slices of bacon on it. Six or 8 slices until they are cooked crisp usuallu does the trick to tender yet presentable.

But, on that count pretty is good but taste is better!!

I don't wanna sit there looking at it! I wanna eat it!

I did this and by far it was the worst turkey I've ever made. The breast meat was so weird textured the fam hated it. I'm a traditional girl and I like my breast facing up.

I have WHAT in my yard? :

I don't wanna sit there looking at it! I wanna eat it!

Your exactly right. When we take ours out of the oven I then start pulling off all the meat and laying it onto another platter. I don't want my kids to accidently get hold of a bone and swallow it. We have always cut the meat off the bone before eating.......

Some come for looking.....then some come for eating
