IF the previous owners already got rid of the donkey for causing problems with cattle, he will not be a good canidate for a sheep guardian!

with a family.... not sure where you live but that is most definitely poverty level .. we are talking $7200 a year for a family of 4???

She is excited about getting free food for her animals.. why is everyone questioning her? Sheesh be happy she can feed the donkey now.
She's working on a new home for it.. but meanwhile it isnt starving...

I don't know who could make it on that. A family of 5 soon to be 6, 3 young kids another on the way and the parents.
Sounds like she is doing the best she can. And she has found food for the animal. Sounds like she is trying.

Hope your situtation improves.......
Sending Prayers your way.

I don't pay rent. But there is still Electric, Gas, and other bills that need to be paid around the house. Plus paying for GAS for transportation isn't CHEAP. I get less then $300 for foodstamps. I do pretty good on food a month, just go grocery shopping one time and I go to places that have a 5 for $20 deal on meat like Hitchcock or spend maybe $123 at the meat mart for a BIG package of meat. Food never really been a problem. We are always overwelmed with WIC products like eggs, cheese, and cereal, now they give bread and fruit and veggies.

Actually most months that exceeds my monthly household budget....it for sure would if I was getting food stamps, WIC and had my healthcare paid for plus not paying rent. You have to to be willing to do without some of what some people consider must haves tho. We've never had cable or dish TV, haven't went out to a movie in probably 15 years, don't eat out much at all. I didn't have internet for many years, but that is my one monthly "splurge" now. I'm not trying to bash the OP....just saying it can be done.

All of us are on here because we care about animals and me being an "animal lover" myself, I think its best to get rid of the donkey. Don't let the poor thing starve, please!!! And I have seen tame mini donkeys on Craigslist going for $100, just do whats right for the animal and give it away, I woudnt try to make money off of it, just give him away when all your hay runs out, one less mouth for you guys to feed. Thanks.
