If you believe in the bible, the chicken came first. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day. And God said, Let the waters bring fourth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. Genesis 1:19-20. Chickens are a type of fowl, so the Christian Bible says that chickens came first.
If you have a different religion, you might have a different belief about how the treasures of earth came to be. In the science of evolution, both chickens and eggs came before man. Since both birds and the eggs were on the earth first, historians werent around to record which came first.
Whichever answer you give, its okay. A chicken cant be born without a chicken egg and a chicken egg cant be laid without a chicken both chickens and eggs are important!"
Seems like they considered every answer but the correct one: The first chicken was a mutation, so the egg came first.
It also would be good for us bakers who prefer to weigh our ingredients than measure.
I actually prefer to measure in grams, it is more definitive, than ounces.
