My chicks have been out in the coop for 4 nights, during the look but don't touch phase of integration. They're not on the side with access to the run, so they're in the coop and it's hot. I went out to check on them and they all had their mouths open. I have all the windows and the people door open.
I put some ice cubes in their waterer. I also put a smaller waterer filled with ice inside a dog bowl, more so to have something cool in there.
I also have a fan directed into the coop from the people door. (That scared them, but the settled down after a bit.)
Anything else I can do to make them cooler?
They're just on feeder and some meal worms. I tried to provide sand/grit for them, but the seemed to just chow on that like it was food, so I took that out of there and just scattered the sand into their wood shaving bedding.
