What does everyone do to keep their hens happy and not bored in the coop? Just looking for some ideas!

Flakes of hay with a little scratch thrown in. Make so they have multiple elevated roost. Intall a dust bath in a larger tub is space allows. Create little feeding station on roost with treats like sunflower seeds, fruit and mealworms. Suspend a of lettuce or other vegetable they can peck on as it swings. Look into flock blocks.

Coop or run (or combo)? Mine only eat and sleep and lay in coop.

In run you can throw in stuff for them to dig through: piles of weeds, dried leaves, dried grass, hay/straw. Clutter like this: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/a-cluttered-run.1323792/ for them to climb on and run around and under. Roost/perches at various heights.
