you should be fine, I used all cedar wood in mine, and after the paint, you couldn't eve smell the wood anymore. My chicks have been in there for about a week now, no problems

Looks great, I have always liked how cedar looks inside coops, good choice. Someone once told me chocolate was poison for my dog; after I got off the floor from laughing I told her to be sure and tell my two very old fat dogs that.
