We had it painted green and brown to match our new house. Had all the old chicken wire replaced with hardware cloth. The inside was finished out with cedar. Just needs roosts and nest boxes. Chicks are only 2 weeks, so I figured we had some time for those.

We will move it to where it goes next week and then to start out the run!!

I researched cedar wood with chickens when we were putting together our shed- everyone told me cedar was fine for wood just not shavings because of the chickens breathing in the cedar dust? I would think as long as the cedar smell is not overpowering it would be OK.

2x, cedar shavings are toxic. with cedar walls, or white cedar that has been "aged" for a while would be OK for chickens.

I love that set up!

Thanks all. I hadnt intended on it being cedar. Our handy man chose the wood. I researched it after finding out and the consensus seemed to be that plank cedar is fine.
