The chicks are fully feathered and I want my garage back so it was time to lug the coop and chicks to there final resting place.

Originally I was planning on placing the coop outside the run and using the side door I built to give the chickens access to the run, but after
seeing how much attention the dogs were giving the chickens I decided it probably be better to secure the coop within the run. I lose run space but
gained peace of mind!

Note to self....use less wood for the next coop, this thing weighed a TON.

Great pictures, thanks for sharing. However...on behalf of your chickens, we object to the use of the term "final resting place"!

What a lush and cozy site! Perfect for your yard and flock. How do you load the feeder, from inside the door of the coop? Great idea! I have the material but so far have not designed an efficient use of the space, but yours is very practical and inconspicuous. Well done, sir!!

Yeah I load the feeder from the "second story". Kinda nice so I don't have to bend down and break my back trying to re-fill it. They sell a lid that actually fits down flush so the chickens can't pull it off. They don't seem to pay any attention to it anyways.

I have also built a watering system using the poultry nipples/pvc pipe and a 5 gallon bucket but haven't installed it yet. So far that gallon waterer seems to last a while with just 3 little hens. I just want the 5 gallon system for when we go out of town, all the neighbors will have to do is collect eggs and make sure the chickens are fine.

I'm looking for a spot to relocate the tomatoes, sadly enough I don't have many other spots with enough sun. Now i'm just considering growing the tomatoes just for the chickens.

Thanks for the nice comments!

Looks like your little ones have a fantastic home! Beautiful surroundings, too!

Had me laughing. I can hear the dog's thoughts......"Can I play with them? Can I play with them? Huh? Huh? Huh? "
