Coop and run finished at last! Huzzah!

Great approach going after salvage and scrap pieces. I am pursuing the same idea in that regard, although my design may end up different. We are (somewhat) in your area, though well to the south of you...okay, actually we're almost two hours S of Spokane, in the L-C Valley area - but still we're "practically" neighbors...LOL!

Hi Julia,
I didn't purchase plans, but I did model it off of a coop page I found on BYC, here's the link: https://www.backyardchickens.com/web/viewblog.php?id=34685-new-henstein-castle
We made some adjustments of course, and we built the run a little differently, but this is the basic design I followed. If you haven't already, you should browse through the coop section, it's good for gathering ideas and you can always combine a few different designs into something that will work for you. As for the cost, I lost track after the umpteenth trip to the building supply store, several hundred in any case. You can make it cheaper by recycling, salvaging, etc.
