It's really frustrating. I bought 8 31/2 month old pullets a 6 weeks ago, the guy is holding them for me in a seperate coop. I had to wait 4 weeks to set the posts due to 4 weeks in a row of nights below freezing. Then got a great start, posts, floor, walls, roof all up in a week....now this...uugghhh Yea I'm whining but it feels better. I want to get it done so I can get my girls in and settled

Looks like it will be awesome... check out my page and you will see what I was dealing with a few weeks ago... then the other day it was way above freezing and we had a rainstorm which took it all away.... yesterday a new snow storm and now its minus 12 celcius (about 8 farenhuit) with a wind chill..... brrrr
Now I have built the coop before getting chickens (which I hear is strangely uncommon
) But I believe I have some cochins coming in three weeks which will need to stay indoors until about the end of March... and we don't have the run fenced yet and the ground will be frozen until April or so!

That looks totally great. I think the weather looked great during the first few pixs then grew worse. That's some beautiful property you have, are you near the coast?
Hopefully we won't have a killer nor'eastener this winter....we both need a break
I moved inland to the "snow belt" which is very close to where the cottage used to be.... sold that and the house "in town" last summer. It is a 45 minute drive to work... my office is located on the Dartmouth Nova Scotia waterfront which will soon be a world renound condominium site called Kings Wharf... let me tell you when I stepped out of my car Friday moring in a raging snow storm.. huge white cape n the harbour.... brrr, top that off with being the first one in every morning at 7:30 and I have to scramble with kets to unlock the office
Nova Scotia is abound with lakes and there are several within walkng distance, we also boast one of the largest ice free harbours in the world... I love it and consider myself blessed to live here!
this link is one of our current projects.... I am not technically savy but one of the pictures comes up with a view of Halifax... with two glass towers which is my view, absolutely georgeous at night... which of course means, what am I doing at work at night! Its funny... I tease my Simon that I wave at him and he never waves back... he works in the twin towers (called Purdy's Wharf)...
if you ever want a beautiful vacation... wait until late September and come here.. make sure you include Cabot Trail in Cape Breton, you just can't imagine!
OK.... back to you coop!! dig out and get a move on!
