Coop design flaw...So there I was stuck in the coop...

This Summer when the birds were still small, I was in the coop doing something.

The wind blew the door open and all the chickens raced outside! Then . . . the door slammed SHUT!!

I had a sudden . overwhelming . moment of PANIC!!

I got locked inside, too. Crawled out the pop door and mighty glad that I made it bigger rather than smaller. I crawled out backwards. With each leg straddling either side of the ramp ( I knew that flimsy thing wouldn't hold me) I made touchdown on the ground and no poo on me! There were some contortionist moves involved and I am so thankful no one took a photo of that.
So did you crawl out forwards or backwards?

Like I do everything else, Head First! I think about the consequences later. Luckily no consequences this time ie., POO. My wife died laughing when I told her. It's the big joke around here today.

I'd still be in there. No way could I get out our pop door. I locked myself in the run once. Luckily I was able to worm my arm through the fence just enough to get to the latch.

Glad it wasn't me. I'd have been sampling the alfalfa pellets and sipping out of the waterer before anyone would have found me.

We have those kind of latches on the doors at the greenhouse where I work. People will get stuck in there all the time. They can't see the wire with the sign that says pull here.

They will pound and yell or climb out the back window. A cell phone in your pocket is a good thing.
