2x2@BecaHawaii Im guessing you made it with 2x4s?
PERFECT! I didn’t want the door to be too heavy haha

Could I suggest an aluminum storm door?
I got mine free from Craigslist. It is a 2 window one with the bottom window that slides up. Mine is 70 inches tall, cut down from the original 80 inches. It's quite easy to do if you have a grinder or metal cutting tool. Just unscrew the corner brackes off the bottom, remove the bottom piece and cut the angles off the corners. Then cut across the aluminum panel.
If you don't like the glass, it can be easily removed for hardware cloth.
I love aluminum and glass as they don't deteriate from the weather. Plus it has a full length hinge which is super strong.
The first pic is off the internet but its the same style door. The second pic is my door with the bottom cut off to fit.
I saw other suggestions on storm doors and screen doors. I scored salvage exterior doors and I am very happy with that choice.Yes please! The door is the only thing i’m stuck on and i think i’m thinking too far into it and far more complicated then it is![]()
