Coop Falls on Child

Heard about it over the weekend and looked it up today. Sorry if this was posted already!

PARKMAN TOWNSHIP -- A three-year-old Amish girl was found unresponsive under a chicken coop that apparently fell on top of her and her sibling Wednesday afternoon.

It doesn't make it any less of a tragedy, it was not a coop, but stacked nesting boxes inside the coop that she and her brother were climbing on.

WHY would you let your 3 year old child out alone in a chicken coop anyways??

Yeah that is a shame the nestboxes(not coop) was not secured.

This is a worry to any parent. In an ideal world such a small child would be constantly supervised but we all know you only have to turn your back for a minute ..... I worry about my little grand child and we always make sure she is safely tucked away before we bring livestock across the yard etc. An outdoor life is the best one in the world for a child but we have to be constantly mindful of the dangers associated with any farming operation.
