My son made it with no corners for pooh to get stuck in! They are going to roll vinyl flooring up the sides so it's easy to hose out, add a window to the one side that the run will attach to. We are debating about roofing, shake shingles,metal or clear corrugated plastic. It will be painted red and white with trim around all the windows and doors.

Great job and good attention to detail. bumpout is a great feature to make floor area of coop bigger, and more open. Use shingles or metal for roof. Other choice will be too hot in summertime, which is disastrous for chooks. For leak protection on nest box access, install a full-width window sill for the window above the nest access. Make it extend around 2 1/2 " or more so that it protects the area where the hatch meets the wall of the coop(hinge area) A piece of vinyl baseboard molding inserted UNDER the siding below the window at the place where the hatch/hinges will meet the wall can be made to be a flexible flap to cover this crack to prevent leaking. Better protection than windowsill above or overhanging roof for windblown rain. Will require periodic replacement every few years after it cracks from repeated bending as hatch is opened and closed.

I have a question, I have read Silkies don't do high ramps how far off the ground should we put this? There is going to be an 8 foot long A framed run on the end, if that helps.
