Coop Floor***Updated*** Question Need Suggestions

Looking good!!! I can't waite to see the finished product. Im sure your chickens will LOVE it!
If this heat would let go of its grip, we MIGHT be able to get OURS done as well. Trying to get anything done in this heat is hard.

The weather guy just said that we are entering into a heat wave. Like it hasn't been hot up until now. DUH!!

I don't think there is any work going to be done on it today. It's only 10:30 and the AC is already on overdrive.

Good design, fairly simple and works well. My original coop is exactly those dimensions you mentioned; I've since added on 12' to the length of it, but the inside ceiling height works very well.

Thank you Speckled Hen, I really value ya'lls opinion. I'm trying now to figure out how to slide the run over about 5 ft so I can build another one on the other side, lol.

Just got a steel exterior door off my area free-cycle to keep my girls safe at night.

Did you say a run on the other side, LOL?? Look at what happens when the chicken bug bites! We added that 12' I mentioned then added a second pen with some chainlink we had stored in the crawlspace of the house. It can be one coop and run or be closed off and be two separate coops and runs. You are just beginning-check back with us after a year and I bet we'll be looking at your addition to the coop, just like we did!

Nice coyotecant wait to see pics when done.I started out with something similar and now have several of them.You get some babys and want more then want more room for them.So you build yet another shanty for them.If its built with love ,thats all that matters!
