Hi, I've been researching around in this forum a little bit, and I've managed to find a couple pictures of coops built from kids play houses. We actually have an extra play house, and I would love to do this. What I am unsure about is how warm they would be, and how they hold up in the snow. I live in Massachusetts, so I think I would need to insulate the walls. I was thinking about drilling a hole and filling with expanding foam from home depot. Would that provide enough insulation? I think I would do a small run off of it, but it wouldn't be very large. I am doing meat bird this first time around, but this coop would be if we decide to do layers year around. I would only do 3-4 layers though.

Thoughts or other suggestions?

Thanks!

I think it would be hard to fill with the expanding foam, it sounds good in theory but is sticky as it comes out so would block its self from filling the walls and if it didn't would probaby take several cans. assuming you're talking about a plastic playhouse although it would probably be a similar situaton with a wood one using the expanding spray foam.
