Coop Mister.... for those HOT DAYS...... how I did it.....

Really, in our little town of 5k. Some people drill a shallow well to save money, but the water quality isn't good. My parents live next door and they have two wells both over 500 ft. deep and their water is also great. We are blessed!

FYI- If you look at the bottom of Angie's page you'll see none of the 12 water softener companies listed are in Palacios.

I guess they are getting rich on folks with shallow wells...... Like the story goes.... Pay me now or pay me later..... I would rather pay a well driller an extra $8,000 when he was drilling than pay a softener salesman $4,000..... We drilled a well near Goldendale, it was 592' to water.... through basalt.... Gooooooooooood water....

Here are some pictures of my rooster before and after with the frayed faded feathers and a one hen now. I've checked for bugs, no bugs at all. I've looked for worms, no worms or signs of worms. The coop is free of parasites. They free range from 6:30 am till 8:30 pm, so I know they get plenty of light. They have food available at all time with treats of watermelon, bread scraps, etc., when available. The only change is their feed (from Texas Natural to Purina Omega Layena pellets) and the mister that I set up for them in this 105 degree heat index we've had for days. The GSL that I have also look dull and their tail feathers are frayed. Am I drying out their bodies with them being under the mister most of the day and if so can I give them oil of some sort to replenish their loss?

Hen now, she use to be black with a green glow in the sun

Mr. Black before all nice and shiny black and green

Mr. Black now, a dull black dusty red with frayed feathers.
