Coop Placement and Grass

It might not happen right away, but the chickens will take care of your "grass issue" for you.

The coop looks nicely built, but I definitely wouldn't exceed 4 birds (and it might max out at 3 depending on the actual space in the interior of the enclosed area) but it appears to be chicken wire on the run. If predators such as dogs, raccoons, foxes, etc. are a concern you should consider adding hardware cloth or welded wire to reinforce it.

So much better that it is an elevated coop. The slope looks pretty gradual. I suggest using railroad timbers or concrete blocks and build a "foundation" to set the whole thing on. Sinking the timbers or blocks into the slope will allow you some flexibility should you choose to place it on the slope. Fill the base completely with wood chips and top it with organic yard waste (grass clippings, leaves, pine needles, chopped straw, etc.) to create some deep litter. The birds will love it and the depth will abate any moisture you have from rain and runoff.
