I am totally new to having chickens. We have 4 chicks and I am working on selecting a coop and where to put it in my yard.
Can I place a coop in an area that has sprinklers?
I am seriously considering the Eglu large coop.

Is there any area of the yard that doesn't have sprinklers, or where they can be shut off? I don't think it's a dealbreaker but as a general rule, dry is preferable for chickens.

I don't have any experience with Eglu so can't speak on that.

My gals would hate the sprinklers. I also am new to chickens but I would place the coop as close to your house as possible.

Where are you located?

is an area with a lot of wind? Extreme weather? Very cold in the winter? Any snow load?

think dry and draft free for chicken coop, but keep it well ventilated, while keeping the draft off the chickens when they roost.

High and dry is best.

Update:
I looked at the Eglu and the big plus is that its moveable and can be placed under a carport or run in shed during a storm. Chickens love a fresh patch of grass too. But its seems a bit small for more than 2 or 3 standard size birds. I don't like the fact that there are no roosts. Its not bad if you're just going to have a couple chickens for pets. If poultry is something you may want to stick with then consider building or buying something much larger and permanent for a little more money.
