I was going to say from what I remember of the Maui weather when I was there a couple of years ago I think your main concern is predator protection unless you are on the rainforest side then you will need to have something for all that rain. This is what I built for mine. I have a very small yard, I'm on 1/5 of an acre and my house takes of a good chunk of that. It is 8x4 in the bottom and about 8x2 in the coop area on the top, but that includes egg boxes on each end, so the coop is actually more like 6x2. I have a cheapo pvc run addition that I use to give them about another 24 square feet of run. I only use it when I don't have to worry about predators like when I'm here or when I know I have the yard pretty secured during the day.

It takes two people to move it around, but it seems to work for us.
