When we filled our first coupe of 5x10 i built a second 5x10 coupe. It worked nicely to raise chicks and stuff in it, but when the girls got older and we mixed both sets, then there was this fight over what was considered the "main" coupe (the first one)...... with 20 birds, we split them in half. 10 each... but over a few weeks that number would grow in the main coupe to 12, then 14, then 16, then id have only like 2-3 birds still left in the second coupe and we would have to go out at night and start moving girls back to the second coupe.
It was because of that type of behavior that i chose to move to one large coupe when we moved to our new property. we currently have 24 chickens and plan on adding about another dozzen chicks this weekend.
