My Coop
I'm wondering what some people with experience might forsee with my coop issue. I started with 4 birds. So I started with a small coop. Now I've hatched and incorporated new birds and I'm up to 14. So I built an additional coop. I connected the two coops with a pass through walk way and screened it off until the birds were old enough to live together. The new coop is probably 4 times bigger than the original coop so my thought was some of my old timers would perch in their coop and the new birds in the new bigger coop. Now after the first month or so it seems they are all piling into my 4x4 coop... For now they're small enough to pack in there but I'm wondering if they'll eventually sleep in two groups or am I doomed to having 14 birds fight over one coop?
And the reason I connected them is my original coop has 4 nesting boxes so I didn't have to add new boxes. This also means I can't block off the old coop... Any thoughts?

As creatures of habit, it may help to lock some of the young ones in the bigger coop a few nights till they form the habit of sleeping in there. It's worth a try. They'll probably figure it out as they grow.

Well they lived in there for a solid month maybe two before I opened up the smaller coop and run to them. Do you think locking them a few nights now would revert them back to the other coop? My original thought was since they grew up there they'd stay on that side but that didn't hold true. They did sleep over there for a while tho. I think they're becoming more part of the flock now so they want to be near everyone else?
