If you knew how many sheets of graph paper I've gone through in the last year...

Most of the time, the brooder pen/bachelor pad (if I can even have roosters) will be open--and thanks to Ridge Runner's mention of it, I might do a double door there, for easier access.

Our winters are nowhere nearly as long or snowy as yours--we get a good (dry) snow, and then it melts pretty quickly. The problem is there's not a lot of sun where the coop/run has to go, so I want them to have what little they can. I'll likely have to keep plenty of pine needles raked up to "recarpet" after snows.

Maybe still roof, but then use those clear-ish panels?

Just nice to have some dry area in the run.
