I currently have a coop that is 9x9 ft. On one wall I am building laying cages. My plans for them were to have them 24x16x24 in in size. I am putting nipples waters in for them and a front end feed trough. The eggs will be able to roll out the front so they can b easily collected. Anyone have any suggestions or experience with this?

Those nest boxes are probably twice the size they need to be. Most are 12X12 and about 14 or so high.
Mine are about 14X12 and 18 high.
Roll out nests are good. Most people use them to roll them to a place the chickens can't reach them (eat them).

these are cages that the hens will be living in, not just laying there eggs. Is that still to big of a size?

That small of a space for two hens is likely to cause pecking issues.
I was also considering building these on the other Wall of the coop. If I did that than there would b one hen per cage. would that b better? What size of hardware cloth should I use for the flooring?
