Well today we trekked out in the snow to measure an elevated playhouse that was on our property when we bought it last spring. It measures 7 and a half feet square and is large enough for me to stand up in. Additionally we will have an enclosed run 8x20. I ordered 7 chicks. Before we start to renovate this coop, will it be big enough?

That is roughly 8 sq. ft. per chicken inside the coop double what you need. The run at 160 sq. ft. Is roughly 22 sq. ft. per chicken or double what you need. Normally space per bird for large fowl LF is 4 sq. ft. In the coop and 10 sq. ft. In the run. But ... Don't forget about chicken math. LOL:D

Thank you. The chicken math has already started...I began by telling my husband 3 or 4 chickens and ordered 7.
