Coop size??!?

How big of a coop should I get for 3-4 chickens?? I was thinking 3 1/2' by 5' !?!?

Get the biggest coop you can, at least 20 square feet for the 4. As you get to liking chickens, chicken math may strike you! You will wish you had room for more birds! LF need at least 4 or 5 sq, feet each, roosts and nests don't count. 1 linear foot of roost per bird and with 4 you should have 2 nest boxes (it's usually one per 3 or 4) but it's good to have an extra in case someone can't wait for another to finish or someone goes broody.

And how high should the ceiling be?

the very best is one you can walk into! Chicken chores where you have to crawl of bend over is hard on the back and really a pain. If something emergent should happen to a bird in the coop, you'll want to be able to get to it without being a contortionist. And, chickens like vertical space too, gives them even more ways to have "alone time" if they are sick of whatever is going on on the floor or they are molting and don't want to be jostled by others.
