I am sorry if this question has already been asked. But I am going to convert an old wood dog house to a coop to get started. I was wondering how big the dog house should be for 4-6 Chickens. The run itself will be large enough, But we are not going to be able to build the Coop of our dreams until the Spring. Thanks for the help.

It depends. If you get decent snows and don't have a covered run, I would recommend a 4 x 4 doghouse for four birds. If your run is covered, or the coop is under a sheltered/protected area, then you might do okay just a little smaller (for 4 birds). If you don't get snows/severe weather in your area, then you might get by with 6 in a 4x4 housing.
