Coop

Mine won't go near the coop at all. even during the day. One sleeps in the window sill (my little bantam) and my old english hen flies up to the roof ,walks over to the front yard then flies up in the big oak tree. They won't let me get near them when I have the fish net that someone suggested.

Will they come to grain? Feed them in the coop then shut the door. You may have to throw it in there and walk away the first few times to get them comfortable with going in it could take a few days but they'll get used to you bringing food, and should come running. may even tie a rope to the door and pull it shut when they go in if they run when start toward them.

Thanks Kenneth but so far I can't even get them within 5 feet of the coop.

wow, birds gone wild. LOL Mine were enticed into their coop with feed but mine were never free ranged-- Is there anything that your chickens love to eat that you could put in their run first and then progressively move it to the coop?

Feed anywhere they'll eat closest to the coop you can pour the feed in a line leading toward the coop moving a little closer each day or every other day patience is the key LOL it could take a week. and you've always got the option of someone climbing in the tree
