Due to a door error the girls got locked out. Im sick and can barely get around the house let alone go out and catch chickens who couldn't get into the coop. Please tell me one night isn't gonna ruin their good habit of going into the coop at night. It was an accident and I don't have enough energy to go through the process of retraining them. Plus, the last time the girls were locked into the coop for longer than overnight, they developed the habit of egg eating.

I just got this flock and I feel like I'm going to have to start all over thanks to this.

You never know what notions they might get into their heads for seemingly no reason but I wouldn't usually expect one night locked out to break their habit of going to the coop at night, unless there's something about the coop they dislike and they decide they much prefer sleeping out.

If anyone else is around and not sick (I think you live with your dad?), just lighting the way with a bright torch might be enough to get the chickens into the coop tonight if they do want to go in.

Dad checked on them, he won't go out of his way to get them all in, but he said there were more inside (after I'd already snuck out to exert myself and get them inside). Thank you. I feel slightly less panicked now. Still sick, but the stress over the birds is lesser. ❤️

I hope you feel better soon!
