Coops under trees?

I'd be tickled to death to have some trees to put my coop near! I do know that my family always put them close with the pin circling a tree.

Oh man it better be ok to put coops under trees or my husband IS GOING TO KILL ME!!!!!

He is doing such a great job building my coop and run and he's put a ton of time into it. If he thought he'd have to move it i'm not sure what he would do to me.

We live in Upstate NY and recently we had a fluke April with Temps. around 80 degrees. Well after being gone to leave chickens over night, we came home to find our chickens sweltering with no shade to rescue themselves in. I have since moved the coop. I would rather they not stress in the heat daily and risk the ticks. Predators and not a huge threat here in my neighborhood.
I suggest making sure they had shade.

My coop is under trees; our property is heavily wooded. My house is also under trees no tick problems here.
