I don't think he will call again after my dad went over and talked to him and the other neighbors who support us! Animal control is suppose to call tomorrow and give us the details. The chickens got out thru a hole in the fence, and next time the kids are having a party we will call the cops. I do have a dog and a paintball gun too! I will post a update when I find out more.

I don't understand why people have leash laws for cats.. come on.. really? Think of it this way:

"Dogs treat you like Master, Cats treat you like Servant."

Cats do whatever they please, but if it's illegal in your area, use it against him anyways

So if the neighbors were to SSS the chickens or take them for a long ride the next time they got out, this would be ok? Just checking.

.... any cats come on my property my two cats kill them anyway.... want to borrow my cats? ...............

The trouble with neighbours like your's is that it will never stop, he does something, you d something and back and forth it goes on year after year.......... might (possibly - fingers crossed) be better to speak to him, even if he is an stinker, and explain your side of the matter..... listen to what he has to say, he listens to what you have to say..... if you both can't meet in the middle..... then paintball him!

Naw, they'd be having fried chicken for dinner that night. the OP would have to do a breath test.

WHOA talk about jumping the gun! (pun intended!) There was no mention of the cat harassing or harming the chickens, just wandering into the yard! I don't think that warrants killing it.

Eaganchickens, good luck! Hopefully you can fight this and keep your birds!

Sorry, does not matter if the cat was killing chickens or not...i DO NOT want stray cats in MY yard...period. If the neighbor doesnt want them to disapper then they need to keep them inside. I do! and i have 6 of them! I love them dearly..thats why i would NEVER let them outside. I dont want to deal with other peoples pets in MY yard..bringing in fleas...disease..etc..nope...its not fair to the neighbors. I wish people would GET this concept. It IS the same as a dog running loose off a leash...

or illegal chickens pooping in your yard, I'm just saying

i find it interesting that the neighbor is a "stupid idiot" and an 'EXPLICATIVE" (which, btw, is rule breaking here at BYC) because HE breaks the law, but when YOU break the law he should be understanding just because he gets caught all the time and you don't.

when people go to the extent to use gross pointing of fingers and ranting, it's USUALLY to make themselves feel better for doing something wrong and have people back them up so they don't FEEL so wrong about it.

have honor for the rules, play by the rules and THEN you can complain about someone else breaking the rules.

YOUR pets don't belong in anyone's yard but yours. even though his actions were extreme, he has every right to use extreme actions. once you break the law, you LOSE your right to complain about his actions whether or not he does things that are wrong too. you need to be arguing apples to apples, not apples to oranges.

you wont get to stand in front of a judge and say, "But your Honor, he has a cat that goes out of his yaaaaard. WAaaaaaah!" "He let's teens drink at partieeeeees!" and yes, they will look at your complaints like whining. YOU BEAR THE BURDEN OF PROVING THE TRUTH about YOUR incident only. nothing else matters. NOTHING.

keep your chickens in your yard.

edited for typing at mach 7! phew! my fingers are smokin' hot!
