If they are slow to recover then you can do a second 5 - 7 day treatment at a reduced dose the next week, 1/3 tsp of the powder or 1/2 tsp of the liquid per gallon of water. The vast majority of the time for me the first week at full dose has been enough with no need to follow with a second week. But some strains are worse than others. Once they recover they usually have built some resistance and won't get sick again unless exposed to a new strain (there are 7 or 8 strains I think that affect chickens), or they are weakened by something else. Coccidia are a protozoan type parasite, very different from other internal worms.
