Corinex quail hens with larger roos?

That really doesn't sound right. Coturnix roos are normally smaller than the hens. Are you sure your hen isn't a button?

The quail hen is corinex, the rooster would be a bantum old english game bird.

This larger roo doesn’t sound like a quail... *excuse my ignorance*. If they’re not the same species and he’s 3 times their size then I’d definitely advise not to put them together.

Chickens shouldn't be kept with quail since they are immune to, but can still transmit diseases that can kill or sicken quail. His noises and behavior will also be unusual to the quail hens and they will likely injure themselves trying to fly away from him even if he doesn’t chase them or attack. Unless they’re raised together from birth or are unusually friendly, Coturnix see all other bird species as an enemies or predators.

Can you get a pic? I'm getting no results googling what you said he was, and male coturnix are almost always at least the same size, if not far smaller than females

My roo is an Old English Game bird. He is a fighter when near another roo, even one that is bigger than him, and he gives as good as he takes when fighting. I know he can't be around another roo. I am asking for my neighbor, he wants to mate the roo with his quail, I think I have discouraged him.

My quail and Bantum Silkies share a 8' x 16' foot dog run with dividers so they don't mingle. The quail seem to be oblivious to the chickens.

Why would he want to breed them? All that will happen is injured birds and infertile eggs

Maybe I’m just stupid.... but I’m pretty positive you can’t breed chickens and quail together.....
