Corn planting question

Do you have a specific purpose for the corn? We grow corn and have much better luck with Indian corns like Indian glass corn. It grows beautifully without any intervention. I grind it an make colorful cornbread.

We have never had luck with sweet corn.

I stand corrected. Thanks for that.
I get it now. The pollen grain germinates the silk strand silk strand and produces a pollen tube that grows down the silk and quickly fertilizes the ovule. The resulting kernal is offspring of both parents. This old brain had to really reach back in time to recall all this.
Wait…. Is this true?

I wanted to plant multiple varieties for different purposes, sweet corn for eating and flint corn for popcorn and for grinding. I got some glass gem that I'm really excited about, it looks beautiful!
