Corn question for cookout

All my life here in New England is was called a cook-out but now all of a sudden I notice people are saying BBQ. Either way it usually means on the grill or a pit if available.
Also if someone does up a pig it is called a "pig roast" and neither a cook-out or a BBQ. I have a wedding to go to in October and it is going to be a "pig roast".
I just boiled/steamed up some sweet corn last night (ate 6 ears by myself) didn't grill anything but I wish I had seen this post as I would have tried it in the micro-wave with the husk on. Next time!

Too late to answer the corn question.

I am pretty darn far north and we say cookout or grilling out. A BBQ to me is how you prepare the meat you are cooking??? I like to think we are "country" north. A little more laid back than the city people.

I have a friend from KY and she is SO funny the way she mocks me for things I say. She says I have the accent........
