Crowing
Hi all,
I took on a meat bird rescue a few weeks ago. I intend to keep it as a pet -- I do know that these birds require special feeding, exercise, and care to slow down their muscle accumulation. Many wind up with organ or joint trouble. I am looking for help on how to slow this bird's roll to avoid that kind of trouble. I have successfully treated this mystery sadsack for malnutrition and cocci.
So far, I am:
- mixing food in with bedding to oblige the bird to scratch and peck for food
- adding greens as nutrients
- free watering
Any other advice? I have tried to join a few facebook groups dedicated to meat birds as companions, but none have admitted me so far. Please help me, BYC hive-mind! <3
