Cornish Rock chick - raising as pet?

Pics
You can also make free hanging food holders that will keep them on their feet and moving around to get the goodies.
We used a dog treat ball and hung it so it would side back and forth across part of the run as it was pecked.
They liked it but wouldn't stay munching mindlessly all day

Here are some pictures of two of my girls eating mango. They are pretty smart, only took me one day to train them to flip the mango, eat the rotten ones and leave the good ones. Before they just pecked the good ones and ruined them.

Here’s an update on Meaty the chick I rescued at tractor supply back in March! 5 1/2 months old and she’s going strong! I bought her an AC unit and set her up a space in my shed since dying the days it’s about 90+ degrees here and put her with my meat turkey I rescued as well Albert (she’s almost a year old now!). They’re literally best friends. They spend every evening out with me while I feed all the other birds and follow me around the yard while they free range. I feed them greens 4 times a week and a portioned amount of low protein grain the other 3 and they have been doing wonderful. Super sweet birds and so happy I stayed with a strict diet on them because I couldn’t imagine having to cull them ♥️

At three weeks I told my Husband I was sure the beautiful Orpington chicks were NOT Orpingtons.
They were first chickens purchased from TSC. That's Reese at bottom of pic with our RIR Roo Phillip at two months. They're still best buds ♥️

Sweety sassy face girl, injured her foot getting down from a tall roost. She healed fine and doesn't get into boxes higher than one foot off ground now.

Phillip and Reese at one year with their daughter,Tobi. They're 17 months now and she doesn't know she's any different than the other hens. She runs and flys and hatched Tobi.

This is their daughter, Tobi. She's a doll and has her Daddy's temperament. Love me, but only when I want, otherwise leave me alone! Not quit as big as momma.

So yes, done correctly CCXs can be raised as normal Chooks.
Reese doesn't know she's a big girl
