Cornish Thread

My 7 newest. She was free ranging with 1 RIR roo and 3 dark Cornish. Half of the chicks do not have the stripes. But they will either lay or make a good dinner anyway.

Awwww! so cute. the RIR/cornish cross will make very pretty chickens, too. It would be very interesting to see more pictures of them as they grow.

Not sure if it's a pure dark cornish or a cross

Hatched two Cornish mixes yesterday. One from my McMurray hen and one from my breeder stock hen. Both Dark variety. MMH chick came out black with a bit of white and breeder chick is full on black and white tuxedo. Very strange looking. Makes me wonder who daddy of each is... I'll post pics when I get home.

Could be a pure. Let it dry some more. I'm not to sure what a fresh Jersey Giant looks like. Either way a live chick is a good chick. Egg or dinner either way all new chickens are cute when born and on a plate.

Im a little behind you guys in hatching any, think one of my roosters is shooting blanks so swapped him out with another one, we shall see

There are quite a few issues that can cause infertility. Anytime you change feed or your Cock bird eats less feed for any reason it can cause lowered fertility.
