Cornish Thread

Hi Good day all.
Does anyone know what breeds to pair in order to get the white hybrid table cornish cross?
using a straight (pure) cornish is slow unless you have a show quality rooster. A little bit of a short cut is to use one of the slow grow broiler strains for the female side. I still recommend getting a Quality Cornish Rooster. I haven't taken my own advice,YET but by spring...Hopefully

Thanks for the advice. It's definitely worth an experiment

I have a RIR and 2 DC roosters running with 3 DC hens in my free range flock. I just got 6 out of the incubator today and hopefully atleast another 10 will hatch out. I had temp troubles. Not all the eggs are out of my DC hens but I can't wait to see the results.

If the RIR/Cornish crosses are anything like my Buckeye/Cornish, you'll find that they grow big an awful lot faster than the pure cornish, and they are very pretty as well!

I've had about 18 earlier this year. Sold all but a few then predators got the few I kept. I liked them. Had one little hen that would run up my arm when I opened the brooder box. Hated seeing her die. I think snakes then coons got all the other chicks (50 or 60) that my hens set and hatched. I had 2 hens with different age eggs in a pen inside the coop with 30 eggs. I got 4 or 5 chicks lost 2 and killed a snake. Then kept getting 2 more then 2 less until all were hatched and all were gone. I think I'm going to set my traps today.
