Coronation Sussex 600 pair what is up?

Coronation Sussex auction completed today. Over 1300 if memory serves for a pair. AWESOME!!!!!

I am not sure where my price barrier is but gonna get in on this one sooner than later LOL. Pretty sure that 1300 plus is well beyond my choke point however LOL

Fairly common here, and not considered to be anywhere near as good as the Lights. Average point of lay pullets sell about Aust$30(US$22) each, cockerels about Aust$10 (US$7.50)at auction. Good breeding trio might make Aust$100 (US$75) if you are lucky,
David

I guess I need to get my eyes checked again... I looked at all of those pics again and I can't see one of them with a feather attached to their legs.?

I am sure I am not the only one that watches eggbid from time to time but my Lord $4500 dollars for a pair of these birds. What is up? Can this be for real?

I am not being critical it just boggles my mind.

There are some feather fuzz stubs on their legs if you look at it very closely. Sorry if I mislead you of the likely COCHIN featherings but not quite. Unless they got leg mites!

Doubt that is!

OR I need glasses, it might be possible that the image on the outside of legs could be from the picture itself, feathes on the ground may have created that illusion.

I guess I just won the lottery. Two of the chicks from a set of hatching eggs from a prominent breeder were outgrowing the rest of the chicks. The breeder only sells pumpkins, marans, and sussex. It turns out that 2 of my 8 pumpkins are actually 1 coronation sussex cockerel, and 1 light sussex pullet.

Actually my dear friend... it was $4,501.00 HEHEHE
and the first four auctions went to the same person. I believe it was fancygeese.com who purchased all 4 of those auctions. So they got 8 birds totaling over $7,000.00

Crazy crazy!@

I emailed this Coronation seller and asked if I would receive a copy of his importation papers with my chicks. For such hefty prices I wanted assurance that they really were legally imported etc....He told me he threw them away...........

No, no more horse slaughter plants in the US. Last year near Chicago, IL, the last of the horse slaughter factilites was closed.

Horses were being shipped (illegially?) to Mexico for horse meat for resturaunts and dog food.

There aren't anymore left, but there are horses being shipped to Canada and Mexico now. A friend of ours runs a horse sanctuary, and still gets quite a few saved ones. She was telling us they are shipped by train.
