Thanks to all you, I have been cooking! I really needed this reinforcement!

From the first 10 years with husband number 1, I cooked a full meal every night including a salad. It all comes back to me now. Then we divorced and he died.

Then this husband #2, This had been brewing for quite a while but the last time one night
(1995) , I made a full roast beef dinner with the pudding and gravy and he and his 2 teens (weekend dad) could not take their eyes off "Men in Tights" . My meal was way way not appreciated. That was the last time- So I just stopped cooking. My family was even mad at me for never having thanksgiving , etc to the point that they felt that I wasn't worthy being invited, HAHA. From 1995 on. I Never gave anyone a reason. So here I am 25 years later feeling like cooking again no matter who's here . I AM HERE. And I am even going to cook cabbage!!!

So I have been cooking now and then (internally kicking and screaming).! for the past year. Now I love to cook again because I am worth making food for.
It's still disappointing from other things. Ever slaved over a meal and make it just perfectly and have this person always need to add something...ketchup, salt, sugar ! My first husband used to thank me for every meal. My current husband does not-he just seems to need to add something. And I could announce dinner 10 or 15 minutes prior, and he is always not at the table to eat! It's always something like he has to pee or take the dog out.

You all certainly reinforced my feeling like cooking again! :ya

You're okay? Other than some scrapes to body & pride?
This crisis-fest has got to STOP. I call "Jumanji!" If anyone can figure out where the game is being held, let us know. Stopping doesn't help, once the monkeys are loose, but we can do everything we can to speed it along!

How awful! If you're seeing them you must have hundreds more. Time for some bait stations and locking every bid of food up at night.

What happened? Did he die of starvation?:D

My wife and I both cook shes the proper 4 course meal and I'm the type that likes to make a big pot and eat off it a few days. So when I do she prepares the other stuff to complete her proper dinner. And I thank her every meal

Yeah I think I might have to start bringing the food inside at night haha

Oddly, we do have bait stations and they’re being eaten by something so not sure why they’re not all dead 😭😭

Maybe needs to be refilled.

But I also made the mistake of having a large pile of shavings back there instead of moving it and then put a plastic shed/bin/short thingy on top of it that I had moved from the side (where they were living previously) with the intention of throwing out so they have a quite warm and cozy spot to live. :hide

Going to be moving those shavings away from the coop ASAP and finally get rid of the bin and all the extra stuff in it.

Maybe then they will move out with no cozy place to live anymore and no food. :fl

Sorry, but it is funny.
Here, it's all the same hubby, and a lot less cooking has been happening, at least until recently.
Because I couldn't find that cheesecake recipe immediately, I just went through and culled my recipe file. It hasn't been sorted in DECADES, so it was an interesting experience. Many things thrown out, and stuff I'd forgotten that looks interesting again.
Must add to shopping list!
The cheesecake recipe is in my old Settlement cookbook, or at least it looks right as I remember it...
