Okay, I’m gonna go check on the body since I can’t go back to sleep but I just wanted to say that I finally listened to the voicemail (yes I hadn’t listened to it yet ) and she said that they don’t do necropsies for what they suspect might be Mareks disease but she said I could contact either the University of New Hampshire or the University of Connecticut, she said they both have diagnostic labs, and that I could also still call her back. She also said it’d be about $100 oh and apparently the message didn’t come through and she did try to call yesterday but the office gave her the wrong number so she left a message on the wrong number I guess. Anyway, I hope to God the body is still okay because if it’s not, I’ll be throwing $100 away.

Good point!! Hadn’t thought of that. I really hope the body isn’t totally ruined now.

I think I still have to call her back though because I think it says you have to be referred by a vet or state official to submit it but idk. Maybe not true for mail in. I had to bring the dogs in because the city is mowing the alley. They fling crap through the fence and I don't want the dogs pegged with rocks etc.

Haha. Exactly. I mean, having a few thing for the family to eat is nice but those little fatties who sneak into my yard are sooo cute! Then when they see us they stand up and try to look tough- I love it.
I’m happy that I chimmed in. The post I originally saw and was desperately thrilled to find was about being depressed after my daughter and her bf broke up. That’s what’s going on for me that is a hot mess. So I’m happy for a distraction with nice people. So thanks.

I stayed up until 5:30am last night and got like 3 hours of sleep. That’s the only reason I was gonna go back to sleep. Cause I woke up at like 8:30-9 and was going to. But then I couldn’t fall back to sleep which is why I got on here and got up. I’ve been up for a while now but I realized 11 or even 10:30 (when I posted that) was too late to try to go back to sleep which is why I decided not to haha I wasn’t saying I was trying to right then. Just that I had tried earlier and couldn’t.

That’s nowhere near the latest I’ve ever slept though.

But I’ve been trying to go to bed earlier and get up earlier lately. It’s only when I stay up crazy late I usually sleep in. But I didn’t today or yesterday. I’ve gotten up early.

Also, it’s not nice here. It’s cold (like 40ish) and cloudy and windy (or gusty). Sun is starting to come out though but still cold as heck.

But still, point taken.

Anyway, I was only going to go back to sleep because I didn’t sleep last night. Not because I like wasting the day

Yeah, that’s why I thought I wanted to because I currently have chickens and did one but I think it’d probably be easier to start smaller. Plus they probably eat far less and can be set up far faster than an entire coop even though I already have the coop. We’d have to figure out how to get if up there too which would be a pain. Cages are pretty easy

But I’m not gonna do or get anything right now. I’m just going to focus on the garden and chicks and new coop for a while haha

And besides, I could always eventually just hatch Jack’s babies for meat birds and more layers!! Although maybe not with the possible Mereks but still. I can keep them totally separate.

This stay at home thing is making me crazy. I used to get out once a week, now it's once a month. Not enough. Plus no chicken swaps or sales, so the chicks are piling up! Luckily there's a good demand. Selling some today. View attachment 2102069
