Hello all. My husband has cancer. He was diagnosed 2 yrs ago. He has had chemo, 35 radiation treatments and Ivor Lewis surgery. He was cancer free for 9 months. It has returned in one lymph node and is currently getting chemo. He was told on his fb by someone (who was complaining about not opening everything) that he is going to die anyway, so it doesn't matter. Basically, told to go and die. I also belong to a cancer group for his type of cancer. Many of those people were told the same thing by others since covid-19 has come out. He is devastated. I am in Mama Bear mode. You sure see the true nature of people during this virus outbreak. He had many people just break contact when he was first diagnosed, they don't know what to say or do. But this - is heartbreaking.
:( I don't know if that makes me angry or sad.

Speaking of planting things in bags I actually learned something kind of interesting the other day. Most animal feed bags are made of woven recyclable plastic. Just lined some wooden garden beds with them and it was perfect and free. I was thinking you could probably fill one with dirt and plant they're pretty strong
That's what I'm doing and I'm using the grocery shopping reusable bags.

I have been avoiding all stores unless the products are outside, and our Walmart you have to walk through the entire store to get to their pots and stuff so I just wanted to use something that we had on hand. We don't even use these reusable bags anymore because they're older, but we use them to carry other things. Figured why not use them for plants.

I did 5 for now because I ran out of soil. Tractor Supply didn't have the 2 Cu ft bags only the 1 Cu ft.

I'm sorry that you guys are dealing with such cruel people, but know that I care about his health :hugs

I've reduced the amount of going in stores but my job is considered "essential" and still have to be out and around people all day long (just being as safe as possible about it) so going in the store doesn't seem As unusual as it should as long as I'm safe about it. Really only go for a necessities anymore

These ones are basically made out of the same thing as feed bags. They're just woven plastic stuff. You can see the weaving in the sunlight.

I put some recycled paper on the bottom where the holes are so that it would create a barrier almost but would still let water to go through. Someone on YouTube said to do that. I'm sure it's better than nothing.

I want to grow all of my food because I eat plant based.

This is the first year that I will ever be trying turnips or beets. I planted purple top turnips and Detroit beets.

I have a bunch of seeds that I need to plant into the garden tomorrow.

We do grocery pickup where you just park in a parking spot and they bring it to you. My husband is still working too and he is in contact with people all day long. He is very safe though because he doesn't want me to catch anything.

It makes me extremely sad.

I agree, and once exposed true evil can never be hidden again.
