Coronavirus, Covid 19 Discussion and How It Has Affected Your Daily Life Chat Thread

Maybe make an appointment with the manager and ask for a solution? Possibly, there can be an employee to shuffle carts for you or fill a list or a time the food aisle can be cleared even if it is when they are closed and they fill the chech out lanes with them. High school students need service hours these days (or did a few years ago), maybe the local high school can set up someone to fill a list. Obviously, no where close to good but maybe better than just the gas station.

I actually assume you thought of this but I'm trying to be supportive.
Great ideas

Thank you. I have called and tried to speak with district manager. We spoke once 2 mos ago. He said he would get it fixed. He now refuses to contact me. I have gone to the city officials . I quote " I'm not sure what we can do about this." I spoke to the fire chief. He told DG he would give them some but would come back. Two weeks later I still can't get in the store. Disability right be violated Government won't call me back. Do to covid no one is in their offices . The employees seem to think it is a joke. I have asked for help and they say they are busy. So, I take pics. and walk out. Covid hasn't done me any favors.
I am so sorry. This is infuriating

DG is all we have here. The grocery Store we had closed do to COVID.
Haven't been here for awhile. Life goes on here on our 29 acre park. We only go out for doctors appointments and hospitals for tests we might have to get. I wound up in the ER in September with what turned out to be diverticulitis with an intestinal bleed and wind up across the hall in the ER from a young woman with covid. I laid there with my mask on tight and the blanket pulled up over my mouth and nose. I was glad when they sent me home but doctors, specialists colonoscopies and doctors appointments, skin cancer surgeries later and we are still alive and kicking.

I feel what you are going through Stacey. You are in IL. Any chance there is a HyVee any where close to you? We used to live in Western IL and there was one in Macomb near where we used to live. We have one in Kirksville here in Missouri and they have Isles on Line where you can shop on line, pay with a credit card and have your order picked up for you or pick it up yourself. Some areas are offering delivery.

Our small town here lost it's only grocery store over the summer also. Not due to Covid but due to the company scaling back. A Dollar Tree is going in in it's place but that won't fill freezers or pantries the way the old C&R did.

Someday do I think live will get back to normal? Nope. this is the new normal I fear and that is scary.

Stay safe everyone.
