My cousin was on a vent for like 5?6? Weeks. He kept getting infections from the vent and they were telling the rest of the family to make end of life plans. He was on the vent so long he wasn’t a candidate for ECMO. They finally put in a temp trach as a last ditch effort and had a miraculous turn around. They said expect 6-12 months recovery but he is already out of rehab and moved out of state. It was about 3 months total between hospital and rehab. All that to say he tested negative for Covid shortly after he was in the hospital and it was the vent causing all the complications.
Exactly. Wtf are they even using vents for this? Ive said it before and I'll say it again: its like they are trying to kill people

Natural immunity doesn’t help when the spike proteins mutate, however.

Natural immunity from the virus itself doesn’t last forever. If you were infected at the beginning, your immunity may not be enough to keep you from getting sick with a new one. So vaccination even after the infection gives you a boost.
Hows the vaccine and booster compare? We don't know because from what I understand the CDC isn't doing any statistics on natural immunity from prior infection.
Almost everyone I know that has had the vaccine including us has since contracted covid. DW's boss just got it and he just two months ago was boosted. It's been many months of the covid positive #s being 23% to close to 50% coming from vaxxed, week after week avg positives have been on avg 24% vaxxed.

Yeah, our government really dropped the ball on getting tests. Of course it will surge in the winter.
Yeah that's a complaint in the news, current administration said they were going to stop covid and said there would be more testing and then didn't put much effort into making sure tests available, apparently thinking the vaccine was going to take care of it until the so called 'breakthrough' cases became the norm. Now they are in a rush to get more testing.
IMHO I don't think testing is going to do much, yes it will help on positive tests but a negative test really doesn't mean much, just negative that moment. Only way testing could make a difference is if they have tests for every citizen for every day....
Think about all the cost and landfill space for masks and gloves, imagine two billion three hundred ten million test kits added to landfill every week in the US.

In new Orleans yes they do. And the city does spot checks to see if they do. A bunch of businesses got busted a couple weeks ago not checking so they actively cracking down on it

Wow, that seems a little unconstitutional
NYC same thing, saw a vid on a family getting arrested in a restaurant NYC because 5yr old kid didn't have vaccine passport, imagine the trauma for those poor kids.
Saw another one don't remember where they were from, maybe Costa Rica, family on vacation in NYC. DW said they should have looked into it, I say what the #!!!! there isn't anywhere that restrictive besides China and North Korea. Imagine getting into a plane to go NYC and everyone eligible, arrive no biggie, all good, and then they find out can't enter anywhere, because they also had 5yr old kid unvaxxed, where they were from they are not vaccinating children. That's going to be that families worst vacation I'm sure.
Wish someone could have told them to cross the Hudson river and enter NY state and the vaxx passport mandate does not apply, it's only NYC not the state.

Unconstitutional? Not till a court rules so, and then another will say otherwise...

There using vents because Covid is a pneumonia. It fills the lungs with fluid and you suffocate. The vent pushes humdified, oyxgen rich air into your lungs at a pressure to keep the alveoli inflated. This is to keep the patient alive to give the patient time for the antibiotics and antivirals to assist your immune system in fighting this disease.
It's not pretty and you can choose not to try. Be sure your family knows ahead of time.
But no, trust me, there are better ways to spend out time than trying to "kill people".

DW suggested I should get some home tests at the store. :gig.
Can still find them here some places, couple pharmacies, and DW just saw some at a gas station (Speedway) don't know why they had them but she bought it for a coworker that was looking. Pretty rural upstate here though, so stuff doesn't disappear as quick.
I think it would help if we didn't have massive lines all across the country of people wanting to test with no symptoms, really think it would be wise if we saved tests for people that actually need one.

I know of multiple multiple "mom and pop" small restaurants that have closed permanently cause of all of what the city has done and is doing
Really ticked me off beginning of covid, everything 'nonessential' shutdown here NY, mom and pop stores done. I wanted to buy some flowers for DW Mothers Day, couldn't go to mom and pop store small local florist where I might have run into two customers or maybe nobody, I had to go to a grocery store where there was hundreds, could've went to a Walmart with hundreds.....
