In this area, someone has a key to all the blue Post Office mail boxes. The local 'Neighborhood' website is full of people whose checks have been stolen, the ink chemically "washed' off and re-written to someone else.
If they didn't have the key I'm sure they could just follow the Postman and loot the mailboxes. The delivery is so bad, It probably wouldn't be noticed. Sorry.
Wow. I think if we had that problem here Id drop everything off at the post office. We live in the middle of nowhere so following the Postman would be a waste of time. Only mail problem we have here is the snow plows. One second you have a mailbox...the next you dont. Ive lost so many mailboxes to plows and drunk drivers that I stopped burying the post. Its sitting in 2 Tidy Cat containers filled with cement.

Never again. Chase bank btw. Not with them anymore either. I pulled all my accounts from them after that.
I'm about to move my business from them. I'm hearing too many things about the big international banks playing games and they don't need my support (or exposure).
I'm hoping a large regional bank would serve me better.

They moved everything to online which is what did it for me. Plus the people at my local branch are really rude and unhelpful. My boss likes them for business banking because he likes that its all online. Some people see that as convenient but when you dont have internet its not. Until I got a phone we didnt have internet for years. I can honestly say that other than this and work I dont use it either.

I could print it out online but I'd have to do it either at work or at the library. The library charges you to print. Worst case scenario I'll do it at work. But if the library has them for free I'll get them there. I see it as if we dont pick them up at the library eventually they will stop providing that service. Just like the post office did.
I worked at the library. It was a pain in tha ass. Easier to just print the form for them. Big waste of money. We threw away thousands at the end of tax season.

For good or bad, my bank freezes accounts at a whiff of fraud.
DW had to make an emergency drive to Virginia several years ago. She had to stop for gas north of Knoxville and the bank refused her credit card. They called it suspicious activity. But we didn't find out for days because it was the weekend.
Luckly she found another card in her purse.
Always call ahead if you are traveling or making large purchases. And know that regardless of what they tell you, that protects THEM not you.

Look for a local credit union, not a bank.

You probably have the best answer.
I have to consider that during the summer (read; hurricane season) we may have to grabs some rags and anything we want for when we get old and bug out on a 1/2 day notice .
You have to consider banks, pharmacies, etc.
We wound up in N Carolina and the people were Wonderful. But in other places it wasn't so nice. My advice is 'Leave early and travel as far as you can". Avoid the rush and the crowds. The best thing of course is to have family or friends at the other end.

I hear new Orleans fireman's federal credit union (NOFFCU) is open to the public. I may be wrong though. They are awesome. I used to have them but not anymore but I know every branch has great people working
